Policy study on social economy
Policy studies is considered as an academic discipline on equal foot as the other two as well one which produces concrete policy analyses (as do the other two departments) as should produce other social sciences and humanities based disciplinary fields. This department is meant both as an academic (theoretically and methodologically oriented) and applied research oriented department as are the other two.
Namely, “applied sciences” should not hold an inferior status to other disciplines in the sense that the process of “application” is seen as one belonging to a one-way path whereby what is academic is merely applied on the social reality. It is our belief that the application and, for that matter, the applicability itself should provide feedback for the social sciences in terms of the pertinence of some of its key concepts and interpretative apparatuses.
