Depolarization of the public discourse: The Macedonian invisible criteria for EU membership
On June 27, 2019 the Institute organized the debate “Depolarization of the public discourse: The Macedonian invisible criteria for EU membership.” The newly elected president Stevo Pendarovski opened the debate followed by the contributions by Trajko Slavevski, VMRO DPMNE’s vice president, Ivana Tufegik, independent MP in the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia, Christian Castana, expert on the Balkans and associate of the French Senate and Katerina Kolozova, director of ISSHS. Gordan Gerogiev, the coordinator of this project was in the role of moderator. The event contributed to the purpose of understanding, supporting and encouraging the process of depolarization in the Macedonian society.
The debate was part of the project “Cooperation Between Political Parties and CSO’s: Reducing the Asymmetric Power of the Executive Branch,” supported by the National Endowment for Democracy.
