Demographic Research in North Macedonia

In 2020-2021, the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities – Skopje implemented the project  “Demographic Research in North Macedonia”, supported by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The aim was to make a demographic profiling on voters’ motivation and education needs regarding informed voting behavior. The research consists desk analysis-review of existing literature on demographic voter profiling. The activities included quantitative and qualitative research which resulted in a comprehensive demographic analysis of the following 10 demographic groups: urban population, rural population, rural women, youth, very poor, chronically unemployed, persons with disabilities, remote communities and other ethnic minorities. The analysis contains data on their voting priorities, rigidities, motivation etc.
