  • 2015 Summer School in Realisms (an updated call for applications)

    The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities from Skopje and in cooperation with the International Institute of Studies of Humanities and Social Sciences (based in Athens) announces the organization of for a summer school program, with the following speakers: François Laruelle, Anne Françoise Schmid, Svetlana Slapšak, Katarina Kolozova and Ben Woodard.

  • Building alliances for journalistic freedom and democratic society

    The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities – Skopje (ISSHS) in partnership with The Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers in Macedonia (SSNM) and The Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) implemented the six month project "Building alliances for journalistic freedom and democratic society", funded by USAID and the Institute Open Society - Macedonia.

  • Jacques Rancière in Skopje

    It is our honor to invite you to Jacques Rancière's lecture "Time, Narration, Politics" as part of the "School of Critique and Politics," a ISSHS project supported by Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The lecture will be held on 6 May 2014 at EU InfoCentre Skopje, at 19.00 h.

  • Advisory Board

    ISSHS, in its capacity of a research non-profit think tank organization, has established an Advisory Board whose purpose is providing quality assurance in the area of policy analysis conducted by the Institute. The board was constituted in March 2014. It is our great honor to announce that Besim Nebiu, Andreas Ernst, Uranija Pirovska, Albulena Karaga and Vasko Lazervski are the members of the first composition of the Advisory Board.

  • Official Language Usage in Municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia

    The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities- Skopje is the implementing partner of the project “Official Language Usage in Municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia,” initiated by the Office of the Higher Commissioner of National Minorities of OSCE and it covers 10 month period (February- December 2014).

    The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities – Skopje currently is implementing Readers are Leaders Project, founded by USAID. The project is implemented under the leadership of the Foundation “Step by Step” – Macedonia, in a time frame from May 2013 to November 2015.
