In the period of May-June 2016, ISSH-Skopje conducted a
telephone survey in the 8 regions of the country, namely the
Vardar, Southwestern, Southeastern, Pelagonia, Polog, the
Northeastern region and Skopje. The survey was based on
a representative sample of 900 respondents.
It is our pleasure to invite you on 18th of June 2016 at
18o’clock at the premises of the Institute of social sciences
and humanities Skopje on a lecture by Stanimir Panayotov
titled “The Problem of Disembodiment in Feminist
Poststructuralism”. The lecture will be followed with a
commentry by Katerina Kolozova.
The state capture in Macedonia has been ongoing for years.
Under the guise of EU integration oriented reforms, since
2011 mechanisms of legalizing pretension toward absolute
rule of the executive branch have been established in
Macedonia. Along with Hungary and other post-communist
countries, Macedonia has been at the forefront of the rising
“illiberal democracies” in Europe.
It is our great honor and exceptional pleasure to announce
that the Postgraduate Programs in Cultural Studies and in
Gender Studies of the Institute of Social Sciences and
Humanities from Skopje (ISSHS) have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Cultural
Inquiry (ICON) of Utrecht University.
We are presenting the study: ” Freedom of expression,
association and entrepreneurship in a captured state:
Macedonia in 2015.” This study is a segment from the
project “Analyses of the policies and laws that affect the
freedom of expression,” supported by USAID and FOSIM.
The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities – Skopje conducted a
survey on public opinion from November- December, 2015 for the
purposes of the project “Civil Society Organizations for Advocacy and
Promotion of the Right to Free Expression and Free Association” as
part of CivicaMobilitas’ project on supporting civil society.
ISSHS is proud to announce the issuing of the 12th volume of the
Journal for Gender, Politics and Culture “Identities.” This issue is
supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Southeast Europe and is
part of the ISSHS project "School of Politics and Critique 2015"
